The Sunflower

What are the parts to a sunflower?

Te Ariki grew  sunflowers at his home. He brought to school one of his beautiful flowers.


Room 16 had a look at the sunflower. We looked at the different parts of the flower. 
Once it was dead we cut it in half and had a look inside it.

We discovered seeds, yellow pollen,the stem, leaves and petals.

With the help of the children, Mrs Johnstone labelled the different parts of the sunflower that were discovered. 

Room 16 are scientists!
