Week 9 -What is happening in Maths?

We are learning about numbers to 10. We are looking at different ways we can make a number.

For example, when we looked at the number 5
We knew that 2+3 makes 5, 1+1+1+1+1 makes 5. We know that 6-1 makes 5. We know that 4+1 makes 5

Oliver and Rereahu both show, what makes 10?

Aren't we clever!!

Thank-you Amy for the badminton!

Today was our last day of badminton for the term.

Check out our photo's.

Book week in Room 16.

Week 9 -This week it has been 'Book Week'.

On Monday and Tuesday we had some big kids from Room 2 come and read to us. They were great readers!

On Tuesday we visited the library to look at the book fair books. Clifford the BIG Red Dog also came to school! That was very exciting!
On Wednesday, Koka came to our class to read us a book.
On Thursday, Mrs Silverton read us "Harry the Dirty Dog".
Today we met Mrs Gardener-Ward and she read 'The Book with No Pictures'. It was very very funny!

Our Castle

Out of a big blanket we built a castle with turrets!

We pretended that Sophia was a wonderful baker! She makes the best pies!

Everyone loves Sophia's delicious pies. The king and queen and all the princesses love her pies and tarts but one day a terrible naughty Jester stole the bakers pies! The kings guards and police quickly chased after the naughty Jester and caught him.

He was taken down to the castle dungeons! Another sneaky Jester tried to take the bakers pies too! He also, was caught and taken down to the deep, dark dungeons of the castle.
