Welcome back to Term 4 2018!
I hope that you
all have had a wonderful relaxing holiday and that the children are ready for
another busy term of learning!
This term we are focusing on these special topics:
·
The Knighton Way- Being Confident
·
Shake Out -Earthquakes
·
Sam and his Farmyard Friends
·
Swimming- this will begin on Tuesday next week. Our swimming days will be Tuesday
and Friday after the lunch break. Please can the children bring a bag with a
towel, swimming suit (and goggles if they have any). The children will be
dressing and undressing themselves, so it is important that the children have
‘easy’ clothing to wear.
·
Conservation and our world
·
The different ways we celebrate
In math we will
be covering addition, subtraction and measurement.
In literacy this term we will continue focusing on developing
those early literacy skills, phonics and alphabet, handwriting, reading and
starting the writing process.
Just
a reminder:
Homework
On
Monday to Thursday your child will bring home a reading book.
On
Friday your child will bring home a poem book to share.
Sunhats
Term
4 is a sunhat term! J Please can you make
sure your child has a Knighton sunhat at school every day. (This is part of our school ‘Sun-smart’
policy.)
Medication
Just
a reminder that if you wish the school
to administer medicine to your child during the school day a consent form needs
to be filled out. These are available
from the office.
Library
Our
library day continues to be Wednesday afternoon. The children will bring home a
library book each. Please help them to
remember to return them to school each Wednesday so they can choose a different
one to share with you at home.
Junior School Assembly
This takes place on Friday at 9.10am. All parents and caregivers are
welcome!
